The Harbin Opera House & 5 star Hotel, is a mixed program consisting of an Opera house, a shopping mall and an hotel under one roof, located on the north shore of Heilongjiang river in a new industrial suburb facing the city of Harbin across the river.

The different parts of the program were formally defined with different targets of monumentality: The Hotel implanted to face the river, like a floating cruiser; the Opera, a giant dancing ribbon, aims to communicate with Harbin city, 2 km across the river estuary, and the shopping mall, builds an iceberg landscape for the whole complex.
